Public Facebook links only

Facebook has many kinds of video pages: regular video posts, Reels, public Page videos, group videos, and Live replays. SaveFromPro is intended for videos that are public and can be opened without joining a private group, signing into a restricted account, or bypassing privacy controls.

A simple test helps: open the Facebook URL in a private browser window. If the video plays there, the link is likely public. If Facebook asks you to log in, join a group, or confirm access, SaveFromPro should not retrieve it.

How to save a public Facebook video

1. Open the Facebook video, Reel, or public Live replay.
2. Copy the video link from the share menu.
3. Paste the link into SaveFromPro.
4. Select MP4 video or MP3 audio if you have permission to save the audio.
5. Wait for the browser download prompt and save the file.

Facebook sometimes produces share links that redirect several times. If a download fails, open the link in your browser, wait until the final page loads, then copy the final URL and try again.

Reels, Watch links, and Live replays

Facebook Reels often use a different URL format from older Watch videos. Public Live replays can also behave differently because the live stream has to finish processing before the replay is available. If a replay was posted minutes ago, wait and try later.

Quality depends on the source upload. If the original video was uploaded in low resolution, the saved file cannot become true HD. A downloader can only prepare what the source platform makes publicly available.

Use Facebook downloads responsibly

Facebook videos can include personal events, private people, music, news clips, and creator-owned work. Keep downloads for personal offline access unless you have permission to reuse the content. If you are a Page admin or creator, saving your own public video is a sensible backup step.

Rights holders can use the Contact or DMCA page if they believe a SaveFromPro-related workflow is being misused.

Practical checks before saving

Look at who posted the video and where it appears. A public Page post is usually different from a clip inside a private group. A public creator Reel is different from a friend's personal upload. If the video involves private people, children, medical details, private addresses, or sensitive events, do not redistribute it without clear permission.

For your own Page content, keep the file with the original URL, post date, and campaign name. This is useful if the post later changes, if a team member needs the source, or if you need to prove which version was published.

File naming and storage

Facebook downloads can pile up quickly. Use clear file names such as 2026-06-facebook-page-live-replay-product-demo.mp4. If you manage multiple Pages, add the Page name to the file. Store permitted clips separately from reference-only clips so you do not accidentally reuse content that was only saved for private viewing.

When to try again later

Live replays sometimes need time to process after the broadcast ends. If a public replay fails immediately after a stream, wait a while and try again. If the same public replay still fails later, the privacy setting, region availability, or platform processing may be the reason.

Questions to ask before reuse

Who owns the video? Does the clip include licensed music, another creator, or private people? Was the video posted by a public Page, or did it come from a personal account? These questions decide whether a saved file should stay private or can be reused with permission.

For business accounts, write down the permission source before publishing a saved clip elsewhere. A short note can prevent confusion later when a teammate asks where the file came from.
